Overview:
Bluebay is located in the North East of the island and found near the
village of Kiwenga. It is quite a large resort with 112 rooms in total, each
offering a fantastic experience of Zanzibari hospitality.
With 1,000 Palm trees adorning the 25 acres of stunning landscape, you
can take comfort in the fact that your surroundings are what you have been
searching for in a holiday to paradise! Kiwenga is by vocation, a charming
fishing village that offers activities such as visits to the Kiwenga caves,
fantastic snorkelling, diving and fishing excursions.
Bluebay has been open for over 10 years and offers a mature
sense of hospitality; understanding what makes their guests comfortable and
invigorated. It is through this understanding that the dedicated hoteliers are
able to offer their guests a superior standard of food and beverages as well as
a range of services and activities that lend themselves to the purpose of
ultimate fulfilment on your holiday.
Over the years the owners of Bluebay have been more than
attentive to the necessary refurbishments a hotel with such proven longevity
requires. For this reason, in 2008 the whole hotel closed its doors for a month
to allow for new makuti roofs to be installed as well as the servicing and
replacements of all electrical equipment and appliances. All soft furnishings
were replaced to keep up with the times (less 80’s) and more influence from
Zanzibari culture was injected into the décor of this fine hotel. Everything
from the curtains and cushions to the bedspreads were exchanged and guests will
see that now every villa and chalet is even more attractive with a private
terrace and en-suite bathroom.
All rooms have intricately decorated hardwood furniture
sourced from indigenous trees and rich native fabrics..
