Standing watch over time-honoured dhow routes along a crescent of coral-bright sand and crystal clear waters, Kilindi is architecturally magnificent. And for an intimate adults-only hotel that features just 15 ‘pavilion’ rooms, its elevated grounds are particularly large and lush.

Kilindi has a gourmet dining pavilion with indoor and outdoor seating, its own organic garden and award-winning chefs. Its excellent 'eat where you want, when you want' philosophy allows for private and intimate dinners to be arranged within the courtyard of your pavilion, on the beach or within the airy main dining pavilion— all included and with no extra cost for room service. For drinks, a sleek cocktail bar comes complete with a cascading waterfall. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the tropical gardens, the Kilindi Spa is inspired by the elements, using natural Africology products designed to relax, pamper, detox or rejuvenate.

Each of the powder-white pavilions is evocative of a middle-eastern influence and offers minimalistic beauty, maximising on space, light and the open-to-nature experience. The domed design is eco-architecture at its best, reflecting the heat whilst also collecting rain water to be recycled for use in bathrooms and gardens. Each pavilion has a private plunge pool, large outdoor sun terrace with day beds, small courtyard garden, wet room with rain shower, open-air lounge and a striking bedroom with arched glass-less windows and floor-length wooden shutters. You’ll also have the benefit of your own personal butler.

Set back from the Pavilions and beach front, close to the entrance where all guests arrive at an elevated point, sits a Sheesha bar above a communications lounge where, if needs must, there is access to the internet and telephones, though the spirit of Kilindi really is to leave all notion of time and space on the outside and succumb to the pleasures of nature.

Kilindi's 15 split level domed pavilions are nestled deep into the hillside providing guests with unparalleled luxury as defined by space and architectural splendor. Each pavilion sits within a private walled garden and incorporates sheltered and uncovered terraces, plunge pools and houses vast beds set on plinths in the centre of the round domed bedroom. The bathrooms are huge with open aspects and views out to sea, every view framed within the white washed dome walls.

No two pavilions are the same and each offers complete privacy.
